CRU Top Dragons In OT In Mayer, AZ

By Kevin Pakos, 03/14/17, 1:15PM MST

Scottsdale Stops Cave Creek in OT

Five thousand feet above sea level, where legends roam. From the dusty caves of the nearby Bradshaw Mountains came forth the unbeaten Dragons. They awoke to fight the Crusaders that traveled up the hill from the flat lands below to steal their crown.

The battle was all for the Dragons in the first half as the Crusaders looked tired in the thin air. When the bell tolled for the end of the half the Dragons led 14-0.

The Crusaders gathered themselves during the needed respite. They drank, planned and gathered the broken pieces of their prince's scepter. When it came time to rejoin the fight, they found their wind and waged a mighty battle. It went down to the very end when both were tied at 14.

Into overtime it went. The purple, gray and green took their chances and fell short. On came the teal and orange. They struggled and ran and threw and ran again.

Finally, as time expired, the winds picked up and after a mighty surge they fell into the end zone. Exhausted but weary they headed down the mountains to their flat land homes to cheer each other in a mighty feast. Victorious, Aye..
